Today in History: Dr. Carla Hayden
Today in History–September 14–the Library of Congress features Dr. Carla Hayden, the 14th and current Librarian of Congress, who was sworn in by Chief Justice John G. Roberts on this date in 2016. Once named Librarian of the Year by the Library Journal, Dr. Hayden is the first woman and the first person of African American descent to hold the position.
