A Community Vision Realized

Wow, I almost can’t believe this is actually happening!

I’ve been working with the Barat Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) Program* since it began in 2004. Before too long we had launched a program website and online learning system.

In 2006, I suggested starting a blog that would serve as an online resource to the teachers who had participated in our teaching with primary sources workshops and others interested in primary source learning and the Library collections. It didn’t happen but I continued to bring up the idea as time went on.

In 2009 I built another blog prototype and pitched the idea once again. Unfortunately, time and funding needed to be allocated to other priorities.

Fast forward to this year, 2011, when the stars finally align. The Primary Source Nexus (PSN) is a now a reality!

The mission of this blog remains close to the original vision — to serve as an online community support resource for teaching and learning with primary sources.

Browse the PSN content categories to get a glimpse of what you can expect to find on this blog. If you’ve got ideas, please leave a comment or contact PSN and share them with us.

As time goes on, we hope to roll out more collaborative features to help us all share and learn.

Cheers,

Julie
